PONS METHOD LEVEL 1 — HEAD COACH EXCELLENCE — STANDARD
The Standard level is designed to build a solid foundation for coaches who want to understand and apply the PONS Method within the Head Coach role.
It focuses on helping the coach connect the key areas of team leadership: game model, training design, weekly planning, player development, staff coordination and decision-making. The aim is to create a more coherent way of working in which training, competition and individual development are all aligned.
Throughout the programme, the coach learns how to define clear game intentions and transfer them into representative training situations. The Standard level also develops the ability to organise the microcycle, establish priorities, adapt training to individual player needs without losing collective coherence and improve communication across the technical staff.
A central part of the programme is learning to make better decisions. The coach develops clearer criteria for observing the game, interpreting information, identifying priorities and acting with greater consistency before, during and after competition.
The Standard level provides the methodological foundations needed to move away from isolated exercises and disconnected decisions toward a structured coaching process based on principles, relationships and context.
Its purpose is to give the Head Coach a practical and organised framework that can be applied immediately in the professional environment and that creates the foundation for later progression to the Advanced level.
